A series on tethered buoys out at sea. I was interested in the construction the buoys weights on the sea bed - the weight construction has to be functional, cheap and last. Over the years people have tried different mechanisms which have been refined allowing the buoy flexibility to move between tides as well as rough conditions. The weight and rope represent a series of refinements. The result is a successful object that remains constant over the different tides. I really liked its thrown together form, the functional simplicity and the buoys ability to change with the environment. Therefore I followed its form through diving, holding my breath, handling and documenting the interactions.
