8352 pictures taken every 20 seconds from the back of a train on route from Lhasa in Tibet to Beijing over 3 days. The sky train is one of the highest in the world at 5,072 meters.
Demonstrate Being Affected is a stop frame animation which runs over 9 cathode ray tube monitors - 5 working, 1 dark, 3 dead (1 of which is cracked). The sound track is composed from a recording made at the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery mixed with the rhythmic train beat. The viewer is transfixed watching the journey over the roof top of the world asking, what is wrong with this picture?
The final piece shown here at the site of the old Blockbusters video store in Catford SE London as part of the recent Tapescape intervention.
