Jonathan Lockwood is an Artist from South East London. He works in different medias usually in a time critical context. Currently he is working on projects throughout the South East concerned with 'Art in Empty Spaces.'
His billboard size works on the front windows of recently closed high street shops leaves their own resonance of what was once an integral part of local life. He realises this through an almost immediate autocomic drawing and writing that when exhibited actively gets participation from passers by. The comic strip is his vehicle to express visually and verbally his expression of changes in the High St. Out goes the video rental store and in comes the book makers. Jonathan maps this development in an understated accessible way leaving the viewer affected and wanting more.
